I have earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Community Development majoring in Psychology from Central Michigan University (CMU) and a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from Michigan School of Psychology (MSP). I was a student ambassador for MISPP and a leader for the Psychology Connection at the CMU Global Campuses. Certified in Case Management from Wayne County Community College. Additionally, I successfully completed post-graduate work and education in addiction studies from University of Detroit Mercy and the Stratford Career Institute as a Drug and Treatment Specialist. I am also a doctoral student in a Ph.D. program specializing in Transgender Care from the International Institute of Clinical Sexology (IICS) in Miami Shores, Florida and I remain a proud sex-positive Board-Certified Sexologist with the American Board of Sexology (member 22201).
Recent work and volunteer experience includes the Macomb County Crisis Center and working with the Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb County area LGBT + community focusing on transgender issues. My previous work experiences along with providing psychotherapy has provided me an appreciation and greater understanding of human behavior. Additionally, my formal education in clinical psychology has educated me in understanding many of the skills, strategies, and methods needed to assist those in their life challenges.
Served on the planning committees for Motor City Pride Detroit, World AIDS Day Detroit, and the One Campaign. Member of the American Psychological Association’s divisions 1, 30, 32, 44 & 51 and a member of the Michigan Psychological Association.
Proud member of the Detroit LGBT Chamber of Commerce, the World Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), and the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT).
In addition to seeing clients in my private practice, I facilitate two support groups for the Stand with Trans organization in Wyandotte and Royal Oak, Michigan locations and maintain a position as an Adjunct Psychology Professor at Monroe County Community College in Monroe, Michigan.
I am a sex-postive counselor and board certified Clinical Sexologist through the American Board of Sexology.
